We are so excited to introduce our School Literacy and Culture blog today! This project has been months in the making and designed with input from many of our current and past SLC teachers, mentors and staff. Our hope is that this blog will serve as an early literacy research hub for teachers, administrators, parents, grandparents and anyone else who is committed to increasing the quality of early childhood education at school, at home and in their communities at large. You will find resources, research and current articles posted here as well as classroom tips and timely program features. We will also feature guest bloggers occasionally – men and women who are leaders in the early literacy field. In a world where information is at the tip of our finger tips and one swipe away on a digital device, a reader can easily become overwhelmed with the inundation of material on any searched topic. We commit to providing fact-based advice and suggestions and relevant, reliable research to you, our readers.
Check back later this week for our second post about what’s really important as you start the school year!
